Iranians are marking the anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. embassy, which the country considers a National Day to Fight Global Arrogance.

Rallies were held Friday in 900 cities, including Tehran, where demonstrators gathered outside the former U.S. embassy. Demonstrators chanted slogans and carried banners against the U.S. and Israel, strongly condemning the hostile policies of Global Arrogance toward Iran, Press TV reported. Some 3,500 Iranian and foreign journalists covered the demonstrations.

Demonstrators also voiced their strong support for Islamic Revolution leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

articipants also called on the authorities to address people's livelihoods and distinguish their legitimate protests from rioters.
