Iran has announced the confiscation of a large batch of American-made weapons.

Brigadier General Mohammad Ahmadi, commander of the Border Guard Service of East Azerbaijan Province, reported the confiscation of a significant amount of firearms ammunition and the arrest of an arms dealer, Mehr reports.

According to him, there is a possibility of using this firearms ammunition for acts of sabotage inside the country. He said the arms dealer was transporting a large shipment of raw materials needed to make ammunition for firearms.

He was arrested in the Julfa border area.
