The State Security Service of Azerbaijan has started an investigation regarding "provocative" information about the situation in Nakhichevan on social media.

It is about a story on YouTube with an "appeal" on behalf of the "Nakhchivan People's Movement of Iran," Turan news agency reported

"The story, on behalf of the residents of Nakhchivan, says that ‘due to the fault of the authorities of Nakhchivan, local residents are experiencing serious difficulties, and for this reason’ they want to voluntarily join to Iran and deploy the Iranian army in Nakhchivan,” the news agency added.

The State Security Service of Azerbaijan hastened to announce that "such a provocation is spread by well-known circles that take a hostile position towards Azerbaijan."
