The Council of Turkic States can be called a forum of peace, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated at the Hungarian-Uzbek business forum that started in Samarkand.

Calling cooperation with Uzbekistan important as well as pharmaceutical and nuclear programs with which Budapest plans to work, Szijjarto also praised Turkey as the only successful negotiator between Russia and Ukraine.

Turkish and Azerbaijani media also cite the speech of Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the forum, who praised Turkish President Erdogan for successful mediation and thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for diversifying energy supplies to Europe. Hungarian publications do not publish such speeches.

Hungary is an observer country in the Council of Turkic States.
