U.S. President Joe Biden said he was satisfied with the results of the U.S. midterm elections, which resulted in the Democrats retaining control of the Senate, according to the White House pool.

"I feel good, and I’m looking forward to the next couple of years (of my presidency - ed.)," Biden said, answering questions from reporters.

He said he is now on his way to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in a stronger position.

It was previously reported that Xi Jinping and Biden will meet during the G20 summit in Indonesia.

Earlier, CNN released a forecast that the Democratic Party of the United States would gain 50 seats in the Senate and control of the Senate after the victory of its candidate Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada.
