Germany will set up a maintenance center in Slovakia to service and repair the weapons it delivered to Ukraine, Reuters reported.

"We have reached agreement, and work can start immediately so that all the equipment which has been supplied (to Kyiv) can be repaired after coming out of battle," she told reporters as she arrived for a meeting with her EU counterparts in Brussels.

EU defense ministers will also discuss replenishing the so-called European Peace Fund, which member states have used to finance weapons and equipment purchases for Kyiv and which has been largely depleted during the nearly nine months of war in Ukraine.

In total, the EU and its member states have provided Ukraine with at least eight billion euros worth of weapons and military equipment, about 45 percent of what the United States has delivered to Kyiv.
