YEREVAN. - The investigation against the participant of Artsakh War Zhora Atoyan started in Armenian Gyumri city. The case was opened by Armenian Military Prosecutor’s Office attorney Harutyun Harutyunyan.
Zhora Atoyan is being charged with receiving military pension by fake documents for many years and misappropriating money.
According to the Military Prosecutor’s Office representative, Zhora Atoyan had not been injured during the Artsakh War, instead he had other health problems, and using the fact of participation in the war, he obtained fake documents and received military pension for many years. The defendant considers it as fake accusation.
During the interview with the reporter of Armenian News-News.am, Zhorha Atoyan insisted that he and three of his friends had been injured during the war, and they could obtain witness that he had become disabled because of that. He thinks that this charge has a clear political context and personal revenge. The trial is postponed. Defendant’s lawyer, Anna Davtyan, mediated the court to give time to get the details of the case.
