MOSCOW. – South Africa rates the highest score in the world in implementing murder.

Guatemala registers 90 murder cases per 100,000 citizens annually, while Rio de Janeiro registers 35, and Santiago 17.

London, Paris and Rome may be called the safest capitals in the world compared to other continental capitals. The safest European capital is Lisbon with 0.6 cases of murders per 100,000 citizens, Korrespondent.net reports.

Yerevan also ranks among the capitals with high number of murder cases. The index is 2.1 cases per 100,000 citizens in Yerevan, while Baku has 5.6 cases, Istanbul 6, Ankara 5.6 and Tbilisi is not included in the list.

The criminal situation is significantly worse in Moscow and St Petersburg with 6.9 and 7.8 cases per 100,000 citizens respectively.
