Austria will provide Ukraine with €5m for urgent repair of the energy infrastructure, the Kronen Zeitung newspaper reported, citing the federal Energy Ministry.

In this way, Vienna plans to support the civilian population, according to a joint statement by Austrian Energy Minister Leonore Gewessler and Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler.

The minister described the transfer of funds to Kyiv as an act of solidarity, necessary to restore the destroyed infrastructure of Ukraine.
