The Islamic State terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the deaths of at least nine Iraqi federal policemen on Sunday in a bomb attack on their convoy near the oil city of Kirkuk, Reuters reported, citing an IS social media post.
The blast occurred near the village of Safra, about 30 kilometers southwest of Kirkuk in Kurdistan, two security sources told Reuters, adding that two other policemen were seriously wounded.
