Russian and Iranian presidents Vladimir Putin and Ebrahim Raisi discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, including cooperation in the energy and transport sectors.

According to the Kremlin press service, they also touched on the situation in Syria. They noted the importance of continuing close coordination within the framework of the Astana process as a key mechanism for facilitating a Syrian settlement.

It was agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.
