Six balloons were found in the sky above Kyiv, most of them were shot down by the air defense system. According to RIA Novosti, the city's military administration reported this in its Telegram channel.

"Preliminarily about six adversary air targets were detected. According to the clarified information, they were balloons that move in space under the action of the wind. The objects may have carried corner deflectors and certain reconnaissance equipment. All of the aerial targets were hit by air defenses. Most of the probes were shot down," the statement said.

The agency noted that a final determination of the type of aerial targets and their equipment will be provided after analyzing the wreckage of the downed balloons. Local authorities are now of the opinion that the balloons were launched to detect and deplete the Ukrainian air defense system.
