In Madrid, thousands of cab drivers blocked the Plaza de Castilla.

As noted in the message of the union platform of the Municipal Transport Company, one of the organizers of the demonstration, the struggle of cab drivers is a struggle for public services, against the exploitation of labor and for the quality of service.

In this way, the cab drivers, in their third protest in recent months, oppose the policy of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Government of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, which, they say, puts the sector in the hands of big business, represented by companies such as Uber, Cabify and Bolt.

At the moment, the local government is finalizing new regulations that, among other things, will allow cabs to move freely at any time - 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and will also allow car-sharing services - users will be able to reserve a seat in a car carrying other people, which will reduce the price of the trip for each passenger. The process of issuing licenses and hiring drivers will also be simplified.

According to RTVE, about 6,000 cabs participated in the protest.
