Armenia had previously prepared for the possible opening of the Ani bridge on the Armenian-Turkish border, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

"[Let me] say that we have prepared a draft sketch [of the Ani bridge] a long time ago," he said, adding that the restoration of this bridge can become a very symbolic step.

To remind, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced—after the meeting with Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara on Wednesday—that they have agreed to repair the Ani bridge with joint efforts.
