The Russian State Duma has passed a law on the termination of treaties (21 agreements) of the Council of Europe, RBC reports.

The law concerns the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, the European Social Convention and other agreements.

The bill was submitted by Putin.

Russia's membership in the Council of Europe was terminated in March 2022. This was preceded by a decision of the CoE to suspend Russia's membership in the organization.
