Germany has imposed sanctions against Russian assets worth about 5.32bn euros in connection with the conflict in Ukraine, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper has reported, citing the German Finance Ministry.

The publication also said that the assets belong to Russian organizations, such as the Central Bank of Russia, companies and individuals included in the European Union's sanctions list.

At the same time, the Ministry did not report the value of the frozen assets belonging to Russian billionaires, Welt am Sonntag reported.

The German media also noted that the new central body for implementing sanctions is still being formed, and it already has 36 employees.
