The road to the occupied Shushi will be tolled, Azerbaijani media report.

This was announced today at a briefing by Saleh Mammadov, chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan.

"The Akhmedbeyli-Fizuli-Shusha (Varanda-Shushi-editor of Armenian News-NEWS.am) road is 20 km shorter than the current road.

This four-lane road will be completely safe and fenced on both sides," Mammadov said.

According to him, a large flow of foreign tourists is expected in Shushi. "Therefore, a toll road is more expedient in terms of future maintenance costs," he added.
