The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev told journalists after a trilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Munich, Life reported. 

According to him, the meeting was constructive, they discussed many issues and he voiced his position.

The main issue is that the peace agreement must be based on international norms and principles. Three days ago Azerbaijan received new proposals from Armenia. They are studying them. At first glance, there is progress in Armenia's position, but it is not enough, he said.

Aliyev also said that Baku officially proposed the creation of "checkpoints" on the border with Armenia. According to him, the initiative had been brought before through unofficial channels.

According to Aliyev, such checkpoints could also be established on both sides of the "Zangezur corridor," as well as in the "Lachin region." 

The main issue is that the peace treaty should be made on the basis of international norms and principles, any provisions on Karabakh are unacceptable. Azerbaijan's position on this issue was also presented. Three days ago Azerbaijan received Armenia's response to the proposals, Azerbaijani media quotes the President of Azerbaijan.
