The Judo World Cup was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Saturday and Sunday. At the tournament, Armenia was represented by female judoists Gayane Harutyunyan and Zhanna Stankevich. Gayane placed 7th and Zhanna, 3rd, and thus both earned the necessary points for the Olympic Games, informed Vice Chairman Davit Khitaryan of the Judo Federation of Armenia.Prior to this tournament, however, Gayane Harutyunyan was ranked 44th while Zhanna Stankevich, 89th.
