Spanish police have recovered two century-old drawings by the Surrealist painter Salvador Dali that were stolen last year during a robbery in Barcelona, Spain, CNN reported.

According to police statements, they detained three brothers, aged 50, 53 and 55 years old, from whom were seized two drawings of the artist in 1922, made to illustrate a book at the request of its author. The police also seized other works of art, including graphic works by Spanish artist Joan Miró.

The authenticity of the paintings, two dark rural landscapes painted on brown paper, was confirmed by the Gala Salvador Dali Foundation, which owns the rights to the late artist's works.
