A bill has been introduced in the State Duma which proposes to broadcast public channels of Russian regions only in Russian or other languages of the Russian Federation, as well as text warnings to limit distribution of information prohibited for children, foreign language is to be excluded from these spheres, the relevant bill was placed in the Duma electronic database.

According to RIA Novosti, the bill was initiated by deputy Nina Ostanina. "Since Russian is the state language, naturally all television programs should be broadcast in Russian ... and the national language of our national republics - naturally, it has the right to exist," said the author of the bill.

As stated in the explanatory note, the bill proposes that text warnings restricting the distribution of information products to children be carried out only in Russian and in the state languages of the peoples that make up the Russian Federation, that is, foreign languages are also proposed to be excluded from this sphere.
