The death toll from a fire in the center of Moscow has risen to seven, an emergency service representative told RIA Novosti.

"A woman died in hospital, the death toll rose to seven people. Nine people, including one child, were injured," the spokesman said.

Earlier, the emergency services informed that the fire occurred on International Street in Moscow - the building where the hotel "MKM" is located caught fire. A message about the fire was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia at 21.20 on Tuesday. Preliminarily, the fire occurred on the fifth floor of the 16-story building. The fire has already been extinguished. Rescuers previously reported six dead and nine injured.
