The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy supported the proposal of the National Bank to impose sectoral sanctions against all banks, insurance companies and other non-bank financial institutions registered and operating in Russia.

The head of state has submitted a draft resolution to the Verkhovna Rada to enact the relevant decree No. 89 of February 22, delo.ua reported with reference to the press service of the Ukrainian parliament.

According to the NSDC resolution "On the application of sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against financial institutions of the Russian Federation," which Zelenskyy approved by his decree, the sanctions are imposed for 50 years.
