China's Changcheng-3B launch vehicle has successfully launched the ChinaSat-26 communications satellite into orbit, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) said Thursday.

The launch took place from the Xichang Space Center at 7:49 p.m. Beijing time.

According to the corporation, the satellite has a high bandwidth of over 100 Gbps and will be able to provide communications throughout China.

The launched device will be operated by the Chinese state company China Satellite Communications.
