The U.S. Department of Justice has included more than 80 entities on sanctions lists, which include Chinese companies suspected of "auxiliary activities in support of the Russian defense sector."

The Biden administration recently expressed concern that China might be considering direct arms sales to Russia. The German newspaper Der Spiegel wrote that Russia was in talks with a Chinese drone manufacturer about purchasing kamikaze drones. Beijing has denied such intentions.

Other sanctions measures will be taken jointly with the G7 countries and will include sanctions against more than 200 entities and individuals from Russia, Europe and the Middle East who are suspected of supporting Russia's military actions.
