A passenger bus speeding into a van on a highway in eastern Pakistan killed 13 people and injured several others, The Associated Press reported, citing police.
Regional police spokesman Mohammad Awais said the accident happened at night in Rahim Yar Khan, a district in Punjab province. He also said that all the dead and injured were taken to the hospital.
Awais did not provide more details, saying police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
Road accidents in Pakistan are usually caused by traffic violations, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries each year. Last month, in the southern district of Lasbela, a bus crashed into a pylon and fell off a bridge. The bus caught fire. Forty passengers died.
