French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that he will visit China in early April, specifically to ask for Beijing's help in stopping Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reported.

On Friday, China called for a comprehensive cease-fire in Ukraine and put forward a 12-point peace plan.

The fact that China is involved in the peace effort is a good thing, Macron told reporters at an agricultural fair in Paris.

China should help us put pressure on Russia to never use chemical or nuclear weapons, (efforts) which China has already made, and to stop its aggression as a precondition for negotiations, he added.
