The European Commission has published a statement on the adoption of the 10th package of sanctions against Russia, which also assesses the financial damage to Russia in connection with the new restrictions. 

In particular, the European Commission assessed the inclusion of a ban on exports of sensitive dual-use technologies. 

These new bans and restrictions cover 11.4 billion euros worth of EU exports (data for 2021). They are in addition to the €32.5 billion in exports already sanctioned in previous packages. With the new package, the EU imposed sanctions on nearly half (49%) of its exports to Russia in 2021, the European Commission noted.

The European Commission also estimated how much the additional ban on imports of bitumen and related materials, as well as synthetic rubber and carbon blacks, has cost. 

The 10th package of anti-Russian sanctions was adopted by the European Union the day before, on February 25.
