Russian economic operators are ready to continue to engage in the post-conflict reconstruction of Azerbaijani territories. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this on Tuesday at his joint news conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in Azerbaijani capital Baku.

He recalled that a year has passed since the signing of the declaration on allied cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, and last year in Moscow the presidents of the two countries recorded a new quality of relations in this declaration. The Russian FM called it a historical document.

"We have no doubt, there is a common understanding that the deepening of allied cooperation between the two countries will play an important stabilizing role in regional issues," Lavrov emphasized.

He said that Russia and Azerbaijan advocated further development of practical cooperation through the implementation of megaprojects, among them—the development of the North-South international transport corridor, implementation of other infrastructure projects in the region, cooperation in fuel and energy, and industrial production.
