Kazakhstan is working closely with the U.S. on avoiding Kazakhstani businesses or industries falling under secondary Western sanctions, said Mukhtar Tileuberdi, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of the republic.

"The American side, we are grateful, informs us in advance about possible cases for which secondary sanctions may be applied. As of today, we do not have a single Kazakh company or sector that would be under secondary sanctions," he said at a briefing after the C5+1 meeting of heads of foreign ministries of Central Asia and the United States.
