Tel Aviv is waiting for Berlin to take steps in favor of recognizing the Iranian IRGC as a terrorist organization, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said. According to him, the Jewish state expects to work together with Germany against the "Iranian regime.

"The Iranian regime is no longer just a regional problem, but a problem for Europe and the whole world. The only way to end Iran's nuclear race is through diplomatic and economic pressure <...> asking Mrs. [German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock] to recognize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC, an elite unit of the Iranian armed forces] as a terrorist organization in Germany and expand this recognition to all of Europe," Cohen noted.

As the Israeli foreign minister pointed out, Tel Aviv opposes the reinstatement of the nuclear deal with Iran and calls for joint steps to counter Tehran's alleged attempts to develop atomic weapons.

"Germany, as a European and world power, should send a clear message: only powerful action will bring powerful results, and the time has come to take powerful action [against Iran]," Cohen stressed.
