Today, at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia, we exchanged views on the deepening of bilateral relations. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this Thursday during the joint news conference with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Berlin.

"As you have followed, Prime Minister Pashinyan has started a process of comprehensive reforms in his country. In this road, we want to continue to help Armenia within the limits of our capabilities," he said.

Scholz considered it important that last year Germany started cooperation with Armenia in the field of development.

"At the European level, we are working within the framework of the Eastern Partnership; here as well to help on the way to reforms. We also talked about Russia's offensive war and its considerable influence on the South Caucasus and Armenia. I realize that this effect is felt especially on Armenia; that is why it is important that Armenia and Azerbaijan go step by step to a long-term solution. The Prime Minister briefed me on the latest developments in Nagorno-Karabakh," said Scholz.
