There is a high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Germany. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this Thursday during the joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

"I want to thank Scholz for the warm reception and meaningful and effective discussions. We want to record with great satisfaction that there is a high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Germany. Our relations are actively developing both bilaterally and multilaterally, as evidenced especially by the high-level mutual visits and active contacts in recent times.

We discussed matters related to the trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Germany, we emphasized the continuous efforts of both sides to maintain the positive dynamics of the growth of trade, to encourage mutual investments.

Armenia attaches great importance to the inclusion of Armenia as a bilateral partner in the framework of the reform strategy of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, which provides an excellent opportunity for the stable continuation of current reforms and programs in Armenia. We reflected on the financial and technical cooperation between Armenia and Germany, particularly the activities of German international cooperation, agencies in Armenia," he said.

According to Pashinyan, Germany and Armenia have a long experience of cooperation in environmental protection.

"In the conditions of the changing climate, we are interested in developing this cooperation in the fields of water resources management, forest restoration, and renewable energy. We are also interested in the development of green hydrogen. I should note with satisfaction that effective cooperation between the two countries is developing in the field of science and education. There is effective cooperation between Armenian and German universities and individual scientists, which has great development potential. Joint cultural events and contacts between people are also extremely important," the Armenian PM noted.

The Pashinyan noted that both sides emphasized that there is a great development potential in the relations between Armenia and Germany, and he expressed readiness to consistently cooperate with joint efforts in forming a new, more ambitious agenda.

"Armenia-European Union partnership was also on the agenda of our meeting. We emphasized the importance of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which opens up new prospects for cooperation in our mutual relations with EU member states.

I would like to once again express our gratitude to the German government for supporting the search for deploying a new, long-term monitoring mission in Armenia, and express a conviction that this mission will play a significant role in establishing peace and security in the region," said the Armenian premier.
