A criminal case has been launched into Sunday’s criminal activities carried out by the Azerbaijani sabotage group against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) police officers. The Prosecutor's Office of Artsakh informed about this in a statement.
A criminal investigation is underway, the Prosecutor's Office added.
On Sunday morning, the Artsakh Defense Army issued a statement informing that at around 10am, a sabotage group of the Azerbaijani armed forces targeted and opened fire on a shift vehicle of the staff of the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh.
A little later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the names of the police officers who were attacked. Accordingly Police Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan, Police Major Davit Danielyan, and Police Lieutenant Ararat Gasparyan were killed as a result of the adversary's aforesaid actions. And Police Lieutenant Davit Hovsepyan received a gunshot wound to the chest.
Later, the Artsakh Ministry of Health informed that the injured policeman was under medical supervision in a hospital intensive care unit, and he was in severe but stable condition.
