As part of the efforts to maintain open channels of communication between Greek and Turkish officials, the defense ministers of the two countries, Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Hulusi Akar, had a telephonic conversation, Greek newspaper Kathimerini reports.

During the conversation, the parties agreed to develop an agenda based on neighborly relations and international law.

Also, the two defense ministers exchanged condolences on the earthquakes in Turkey and the railway disaster in Greece.

Moreover Akar invited Panagiotopoulos to visit Turkey’s regions affected by the aforesaid quakes to see the situation on the ground with his own eyes.
