The Supreme Election Council of Turkey announced that it permitted 36 political parties to run in the country’s parliamentary election to be held on May 14.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday signed a decree live on Turkish television stating that the general—i.e., parliamentary and presidential—elections in Turkey will be held on May 14.
