YEREVAN. - From January 1 to the September 16, 18 people have drowned in the water reservoirs of Armenia and 8 others were injured, the press office of the Armenian Emergency Service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the Armenian Emergency Service, most of the tragic incidents happened in the Gegharkunik region in Lake Sevan - 7 cases. In the Shirak and Kotayk regions 4 cases have been recorded, in Yerevan 2 cases, the same numbers were recorded in Lori, Aragatsotn and Tavush regions.  In the Armavir region one case was recorded.

In 2009 in the water reservoirs of Armenia 20 people drowned and 28 were injured.  In 2010, 34 people drowned and 8 injured.
