YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan on September 24 received 2011 European Junior Judo Championship’s Armenian winners Garik and Gor Harutyunyan, together with their personal trainer Nairi Matevosyan, Armenian National Team’s head coach Tigran Babayan, and Vice Chairman Davit Khitaryan of the Judo Federation of Armenia, and congratulated them. In the Minister’s words, it is important that this unprecedented victory was celebrated a day before the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.    

The Armenian army’s military club member Gor Harutyunyan, State Institute of Physical Education student Garik Harutyunyan, and their personal trainer Nairi Matevosyan were awarded the Vazgen Sargsyan Medal, and the national team’s head coach Tigran Babayan received a special certificate of gratitude, Davit Khitaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

Armenia’s defense minister also asked that our athletes perform with the same success at the upcoming Junior World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa.
