PARIS. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met his French counterpart Nikolas Sarkozy in the frameworks of the official visit to France.

The two presidents discussed the course and the development perspectives of the multisided Armenian-French relations after the official reception, the President’s press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Welcoming the Armenian President Sarkozy stated that he looks forward to his state visit to Armenia. The format of the visit itself emphasizes the special warmth of relations between two countries.

France is a close friend of Armenia and will always stay beside it. French President welcomed the reforms in Armenia. France is the second biggest state making investments in Armenia. However, the economic relations are not limited with the current investments as France plans to implement new projects.

Armenian President thanked for the warm reception and stated that he is glad to visit France when Armenia celebrated its 20th anniversary of Independence. Armenia is interested in further deepening of the relations.

“We are proud of the friendship with France and highly praise the close ties, established between the two states,” Sargsyan said.

 During the official dinner the two presidents touched upon cooperation between two states in energy, development of infrastructures, educational and cultural spheres. Besides, they spoke on the regional issues, particularly, the Karabakh conflict settlement.
