YEREVAN. – A group of young activists of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) who were spreading leaflets on ANC upcoming rally scheduled on September 30 in Yerevan downtown were attacked by a group of drunk men.
The activists informed police about the attack. Head of Yerevan police Central district arrived at the scene and was told the details of the attack. ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan also arrived.
The activists said that police car accompanied them during the period when they were spreading the report on the upcoming rally. However, it went away during the attack. Thus it may have been a provocation.
