YEREVAN. - A regular rally of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) kicked off in Liberty Square of Yerevan on Friday.

The participants are holding posters and Armenian flags. Leadership of the ANC headed by leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan gathered at the platform.

Chief Editor of Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper Nikol Pashinyan opened the rally. In his speech Pashinyan said that only Armenian citizen "is a person who can struggle against mafia in Armenia".

“There can be no force stronger than common people. Realize your strength and restore power in Armenia. Power belongs to people in Armenia,” he said.

The Armenian National Congress is an oppositional union founded in 2008 and headed by first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Oppositional union comprises 17 political parties.
