YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) coordinator Levon Zurabyan said at the Liberty Square in Yerevan that he called Davit Harutyunyan (head of the authorities’ working group dialoguing with opposition) on behalf of ANC and offered to continue the suspended dialogue.
Zurabyan however, could not contact Harutyunyan as the latter is not in Armenia. ANC coordinator told ruling Armenian Republican Party MP Gagik Minasyan to pass it to Harutyunyan.
ANC spokesperson Arman Musinyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that there is still no information available on authorities’ response.
PACE starts fall session on Saturday and Davit Harutyunyan is the head of the Armenian delegation in PACE. Thus, he is unavailable currently. He may be available only after the end of the session, October 10.
ANC suspended the dialogue with authorities after ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan was arrested. Arakelyan is considered a political prisoner and ANC had stated that dialogue is possible only after he is released.
