YEREVAN. - Ararat Yerevan Brandy factory will soon start selling Dvin brandy, factory director Ara Grigoryan said during the ceremony dedicated to Dvin reproduction.

It is important to mention that Dvin was the famous brandy, which became one of Winston Churchill’s favorite beverages. Dvin was produced in honor of the victory of WWII. During Yalta’s conference in 1945 Stalin offered Dvin to his guests. Churchill liked the brandy and asked Stalin to send some to London. Later Churchill informed Stalin that the brandy tastes were different from that in Yalta. It came out that the master in charge of the mixing of the brandy, Margar Sedrakyan, was exiled to Siberia. After that Sedrakyan gets free and the brandy gets its old taste back.

“Dvin will have a limited production, about 5,000 bottles per year, and it will cost about as much as the Nairi brandy,” Grigoryan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
