US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to China on a diplomatic trip to try to calm the rising tensions between the two powers, The Associated Press reports.
Disagreements and potential conflict points, among others, include trade with Taiwan, China's human rights situation, military activity in the South China Sea.
Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed on Blinken's trip at a meeting last year in Bali. It was supposed to take place in February, but was postponed due to diplomatic and political confusion caused by the discovery of a downed Chinese spy balloon flying through the territory of the United States.
