YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress’s efforts to avoid Egyptian scenario do not mean that authorities are guaranteed against it, said chief editor of Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper Nikol Pashinyan to opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) 24/7 rally at liberty Square of Yerevan.
“If Serzh Sargsyan deems himself stronger than Mubarak, I say - he is not. If [MP] Galust Sahakyan thinks so, I’m here to say that it is not so. ANC avoids Egyptian scenario, however, Egypt also had forces trying to avoid it. Unfortunately, Mubarak did not heed them and in the end they got what they got," said Pashinyan.
He appealed to those citizens who do not believe in the victory of ANC’s revolution.
"When we began ‘1+1’ initiative, nobody expected the events of 2008 but we all knew they would come. When in 2008 the March 2 events happened, nobody thought there will be nationwide struggle but we knew that it would come. Many now believe that regime change is impossible but we know it is to come," stressed Pashinyan.
