YEREVAN. – Armenia and Lebanon are united not only by cultural-historical relations, but also by Armenian community’s presence in Lebanon, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated at the meeting with Lebanon Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday.

Armenian-Lebanese relations traditionally were warm. Those relations were preserved and strengthened by high-level political visits. Thus, Berri’s visit is also considered a high one, Armenian President stated and added the speaker to pass his warm greetings to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman and restated his invitation to visit Armenia.

The President and the Speaker touched upon the regional issues and the development of the Arab world. Berri believes that no conflict is possible to settle peacefully without negotiations.

Regarding Armenian-Turkish relations, Lebanon is for the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols and the regulation of the relations between the two states.

Barri also commented on the Karabakh conflict settlement and repeated his words that he said still in 1997 that Nagorno-Karabakh people should define their future by themselves.
