YEREVAN. - Armenian National Congress (ANC) activist Tigran Arakelyan’s arrest was extended for another 2 months.

Kentron and Nork-Marash court of general jurisdiction confirmed the Special Investigation service’s petition to extend Tigran Arakelyan’s arrest for 2 months.

Tigran Arakelyan and 6 other ANC young activists were arrested on August 9 after an incident with the police. The other activists were released, but Arakelyan still remains under arrest.

The dialogue between the government and ANC was canceled in August because of Tigran Arakelyan’s arrest. ANC announced that they will not continue the negotiations until the young activist is released.
