The Iranian Navy's Northern Fleet will receive the Damavand destroyer in the near future, Mehr reports.

Destroyer Damavand is an all-Iranian ship, the second Moudge-class warship and an upgraded type of the Jamaran destroyer, which became part of the Army's Northern Fleet in 2014.

The ship is capable of carrying helicopters, anti-ship and surface-to-air missiles, torpedoes, advanced cannons and anti-aircraft guns. The ship is also equipped with electronic warfare equipment.
