The Chinese Consulate-General in Marseille filed a complaint with France after the windows of a bus carrying a group of Chinese tourists were smashed in the southern city of Marseille, causing minor injuries, Reuters reports, citing Sunday statement made by Chinese Consular Affairs Office.
The official complaint from the Consulate General called on France to guarantee the safety of Chinese citizens and their property.
The bus was attacked by rioters on Thursday during violence that broke out across France after the killing of 17-year-old Nahel of Algerian descent by a police officer. Chinese tourists left France, the statement says.
