Misuzulu kaZwelithini, the king of Zulu, South Africa’s largest ethnic group, is being treated at the hospital on suspicion of poisoning, his traditional prime minister, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, told BBC.
King kaZwelithini sought medical help in Eswatini because it is inconvenient for him to receive treatment in South Africa, he said.
According to Buthelezi, this happened after the sudden death of one of his senior advisers, also from suspected poisoning.
